1) The 2019 AGM is, as scheduled, to be at the Langdon Suite, Newbury Rugby Club, Monks Lane, Newbury RG14 7RW, Berkshire on Sunday 30th June. Stall holders can be there from 9 am onwards to set up, members please register from 10.30, with a prompt start to business at 11.00.
Entry will be £10 a head to include buffet, speaker’s card and raffle; tea, coffee and other drinks will be available at the bar.
RFU President Chris Kelly will speak from approx. 12.30 pm, and there will also be the usual Auction and Sales and Exchanges. The Auction sheet accompanies these notes and if you can’t attend (and we hope you can), advance bids are welcomed and indeed encouraged. Please take a look, it’s a valuable fundraiser.
We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible there, supporting what is always a grand Society event. Come on you Midlands and South East members, dip the toe in and get along, you won’t regret it: it would be splendid to see you!
2) Members’ Publication: Subject to confirmation at the AGM, it is proposed to use up to £2,500 of the late Roger Harris’ legacy to the Society to create this publication. All members will be invited to submit a scan or copy of a favourite piece of their memorabilia and a brief ‘what and why’ account to accompany it. Those paid up for 2019-2020 will be eligible for their piece to appear in an A4 full colour 64pp or larger issue distributed free to the membership, hopefully by Christmas 2019. Extra copies would be £5 each. It is hoped as many of you as possible will contribute to a unique effort. Watch this space!
