1909 French Team that played Wales
This French international jersey (see below) forms part of the Phillip Dudley Waller collection (who was playing his club rugby for Newport RFC), Phil Waller was a doubt to play in this match '& according to the Evening Express' is not very fit and if he does not play Cardiff forward J.P Casey will be called upon (sadly for Casey he did not make the field and would never represent Wales in an international).

This was the first time Wales had travelled to France for an international at the Stade Colombes (played on Shrove Tuesday), which Wales won comfortably by 47 points to 5. Scoring 11 tries in the process (Billy Trew 3 tries & 1 conversion, Melville Baker 3 tries, Johnnie Williams 2 tries, 'Jack' Jones 2 tries & Jim Watts 1 try, Jack Bancroft 6 conversions). To France sole try by Sagot converted by Mauriat. The first half was a close affair with Wales leading 9-0 at half time, but had things practically their own way scoring 38 points in the second half.
