Rogers Jones Auctioneers ‘Selections and Collections’ sale on Saturday 12th September was the place to be (well online that is, due to Covid restrictions), where they had an extensive collection of match worn Jerseys going under the hammer.
South African author Hans Saestad has just completed another book titled ‘The First Lions’. The book covers the adventures of the 1924 British team in South Africa. It consists of 162 pages and has a hard cover (A4).
The undisputed highlight of the sale, was a magnificent, hugely rare 1910 French International Rugby Cap in very good condition, presented to Julien Combe (Stade Francais) during the first ever 5 Nations Championship! This Sold for what we believe is a world record for a Rugby Cap - with the hammer going down at £24,000 (£29,760 inclusive of buyers premium and VAT)
