Our recent RMS meeting which was held at John Wilesmith's (the wooden rugby figures man!) home near Ledbury, Herefordshire, onSunday the 29th October.

John kindly arranged a guest speaker in former England International of the 50’s Ian David Stafford Beer

Educated at Whitgift School ‘Cambridge University’ Ian Beer represented the following sides:
Old Whitgiftians, Cambridge University (Blues 52-4), Harlequins, Bath, Shropshire, Dorset, Wiltshire. He also captained the Oxford –Cambridge side that toured the USA in 1955. He taught at Marlborough, Ellesmere and Lancing Colleges and later Headmaster of Harrow A Cambridge Blue (1952-54), won 2 England Caps in 1954 and later became President of the RFU in 1993-94.
Ian was hugely influential in forming the RFU’s injured players foundation & spoke at great length. A Speaker's Card was produced and these can be purchased for £3 from Phil Atkinson akky8@hotmail.co.uk
